Be a Clear Channel for God

Read John 14:15-31

John 14:22
Then Judas (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”

Judas had a valid question. People after Judas have asked God the same question. Some have even given Him some helpful suggestions as well. Surely something spectacular will show everyone who the true God is and solve our world’s entire problem.

My sons told me that a pilot would write across the sky “Jesus loves you” in his plane daily without fail near their cousin’s house in Florida.

To Judas’ question, Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. (John 14:23)

The only way for God to show Himself to the world is through those who love Him and obey His teaching. If we are such God-lovers, God’s love for us will be so clearly manifested that it is as if God is the Host and Resident in our lives.

In other words, the God nature becomes our nature. God’s home is us and we are the showcase that God is real and God is alive. We do so by obeying His words and loving Him passionately with the daily Presence of the Holy Spirit.

God intends to show Himself to the world through us. We are the only channel through which the world views the reality, nature and character of God. To the world, their evaluation of God depends on their reading of us, His disciples.

Represent Christ well. Be a clear channel for God to the world.
